Job Position: Assembler & PolisherLocation: Huntley, IL 60142Pay Rate: $18.00-$22.00/hrShift: 7:00am - 3:00pm M-F, Incremental and Saturday OT as necessaryDescription:GENERAL DUTIES -Maintains all tools & machinery in clean working orderMaintains clean & organized work areaAssist as needed with other areas of the Tool Design operationsConfers with Design Engineers, Production Personnel & others to resolve issuesRecognizes & correct safety hazards; reports hazards requiring higher level fixesParticipates in LEAN Manufacturing initiatives as requiredOther duties as assignedASSEMBLY -Review work orders, drawings, specifications or instructions to determine materials, procedures, sequence of operations neededMeasures, marks & scribes' dimensions & reference points on metal stockVerifies dimensions and assembly alignment are correctOperates mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders and shapersVerifies finished work conforms to specificationsFits & assembles finished parts, making minor modifications as needed to produce best fit of partsDisassembles combination forms to salvage tooling & places in proper customer binsPOLISHING -Review work orders, drawings, specifications or instructions to determine materials, procedures and equipment neededSet up and operate hand drill to drill/tap holes in molds for ventingPositions parts and removes surface defects with palm sander, sandpaper, file or steel woolInspects finished molds for smoothness, contour, conformity and defectsVerifies finished work piece conforms to specificationsFits parts together in preassembly to ensure dimensions are accurateDisassembles combination forms to salvage tooling & places in proper customer binsQualifications:High School Diploma2-3 years' experience in similar roleDemonstrated ability to read, interpret and apply drawings, instructions, etc.Basic computer skillsDemonstrated mechanical aptitudeDemonstrated ability to read blue prints, work instructions, technical schematics & other drawingsSolid reading & mathematical skillsDemonstrated ability operate welding equipmentDemonstrated knowledge/experience using precision measuring & marking devices - rulers, micrometers, calipers & scribes
