Beyond clinical care, our Family Services team supports thousands of families across the region with programs that help meet essential needs and reduce barriers that impact health and well-being.\r\nAt CHP, our mission is to provide access to health care for everyone.Salary Range: $24.00 - $28.00 / hour The Certified Dental Assistant provides support to CHP dentists and dental hygienists. This person is cross-trained on reception at the dental practice. This person will support CHPs mission, vision, and values and will adhere to compliance protocols as well as CHPs policies and procedures.\r\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS\r\nCertified Dental Assistant Essential Duties and Responsibilities:\r\nSupports CHP dentists by assisting with instruments, seating patients, room preparation and instrument cleaning.\r\nGreets patients upon arrival, escorts patients from waiting room to treatment room.\r\nTakes patient vitals and records for dentist evaluation.\r\nTake dental intra-oral and radiographs.\r\nGather patients medical history for dentist review and final documentation.\r\nDocuments patients current medicines, medical conditions and pre-med if needed.\r\nDocument patients blood pressure, weight and smoking status.\r\nProvides chair side assistance during procedures as directed by attending dentist.\r\nPerforms lab tasks as including denture and crown preparation.\r\nEnsure lab cases for the next day have arrived from the lab.\r\nSets up, breaks and wipes down treatment room between patients.\r\nCleans and sterilize dental instruments.\r\nFollows all safety protocols set forth by CHP, Department of Public Health and OSHA.\r\nAnswers phones as needed.\r\nSchedules new and established patent appointments as needed.\r\nMay collect patients co-pay, deductibles and treatment payments when applicable.\r\nRelieves and steps in for receptionist when needed.\r\nMay be responsible to open and close front door of office at start and end of day.\r\nConfirm patient appointments for the upcoming days\r\nInform Dental Center Practice Manager of any irregular procedure observed by a patient or companion while in the waiting area or during intake process.\r\nObserve and cooperate with the security of the dental center at all time.\r\nFlexible schedule including some Saturday hours.\r\nFlexible to assist at other sites as requested.\r\nOther duties as assigned.\r\nCompetencies:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:\r\nDemonstrate ability to manage projects or tasks.\r\nManage difficult or emotional patient situations.\r\nRespond promptly to patient needs.\r\nSolicit patient feedback to improve service.\r\nRespond to requests for service and assistance.\r\nComplete administrative tasks correctly and on time.\r\nCover when needed and cross train for additional administration/dental coverage or other site management as needed.\r\nMaintain confidentiality.\r\nProfessional, welcoming, and pleasant personality.\r\nContribute to building a positive team spirit.\r\nRespond well to questions.\r\nTakes careful and accurate notes.\r\nFollow up on messages and ensures delivery of messages.\r\nCompose/type letters if requested by administration.\r\nEssential Skills and Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
