With over 5,000 employees and a presence in every county across the state, Texas A&M AgriLife is uniquely positioned to improve lives, environments and the Texas economy through education, research, extension and service.Click here to learn more about how you can be a part of AgriLife and make a difference in the world!Position InformationWe are seeking a Financial Accountant I, who under supervision, performs entry-level financial and administrative support activities related to accounts receivable support, banking operations, deposits, financial processing, and shared services support.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and support accounts receivable activities and related financial operations for supported AgriLife agencies.Coordinate and process deposits and banking transactions for supported AgriLife agencies.Assist departments with submission and processing of financial transactions through institutional financial systems.Prepare and process routine financial uploads, deposits, reimbursement activity, payroll-related entries, and other transactional items.Review financial documents for completeness, coding, approvals, and compliance with established procedures.Process returned payments, ACH activity, credit card transactions, and other banking-related exceptions.Monitor and coordinate shared communications, service requests, and ticketing activities related to financial operations and customer support.Assist with monitoring compliance related to institutional cash handling procedures and notify management of identified concerns.Maintain records, documentation, and customer service support related to financial and banking operations.Provide cross-functional operational support and perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Required Special Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesStrong computer, communication, and accounting/bookkeeping skills.Ability to multitask, maintain attention to detail, and work cooperatively with others.Ability to interpret and apply financial procedures and institutional guidelines.Why Work at Texas A&M AgriLife?When you choose to work for Texas A&M AgriLife, you become part of an organization that is an established leader in agriculture and life sciences with a wide range of capabilities to meet the needs of our statewide, national, and international constituents.In addition, Texas A&M AgriLife offers a comprehensive benefit package including the following:Health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance with Texas A&M AgriLife contributing to employee health and basic life premiums 12-15 days of annual paid holidays Up to eight hours of paid sick leave and at least eight hours of paid vacation each monthAutomatic enrollment in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas Employee Wellness Initiative for Texas A&M AgriLifeApplicant InstructionsApplications received by Texas A&M AgriLife must either have all job application data entered or a resume attached.
