We are a full-service boat dealership proudly representing Regal Boats, Yamaha Outboards, and Volvo Penta, with on-site service facilities and mobile service across Lake Norman, Mountain Island Lake, and Lake Wylie.This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician who takes pride in doing the job right, enjoys working around premium boats, and wants to be part of a strong, family-owned dealership with a loyal customer base.What You’ll DoAs a Marine Technician, you will perform diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, rigging, and customer-service-related work on a variety of boats and propulsion systems.Responsibilities include:Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and customer-reported issuesPerform maintenance and repairs on engines, outdrives, DC electrical systems, electronics, hardware, and related boat systemsRig new boats for sale and deliveryCreate clear repair plans based on inspection and diagnosisComplete repairs according to manufacturer procedures and service manualsRecord accurate time, parts used, and detailed work performed on each repair orderCommunicate additional service needs, issues, or recommendations to the Service ManagerCoordinate with the Parts Manager on parts needed for jobsTransport boats by truck and trailer or by water as neededKeep work areas, tools, service vehicles, and company equipment clean and organizedComplete required online training and maintain or advance certifications with brands such as Yamaha, Volvo Penta, and MercuryWhat We’re Looking ForThe right candidate is dependable, organized, mechanically inclined, and able to work with limited supervision while still being a strong team player.Ideal qualifications:Marine industry experience preferredStrong diagnostic abilityExperience with gas enginesKnowledge of 12V/DC electrical systemsMechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skillsAbility to read and follow manufacturer service manualsStrong attention to detailGood time management and work habitsReliable, punctual, and hard-workingGood judgment and common-sense decision-makingAbility to communicate clearly with service and parts teamsTrailer towing experience requiredBoating experience preferredMust have your own toolsCDL certification is a plus, but not requiredRequirementsValid driver’s licenseClean driving recordAbility to safely tow trailersAbility to pass a background checkAbility to pass a pre-employment drug testFull-time availability, typically Tuesday through SaturdayWhy Join Talley’s Pier 77 Marine?At Talley’s Pier 77 Marine, you’ll work with a respected dealership, premium boat brands, and a team that cares about doing things the right way.
