The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in both online and batch JCL, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and a strong focus on delivering high-quality, zero-defect solutions. This role also requires the ability to conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and work effectively in an Agile environment. The candidate is expected to work onsite in UPC.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDesign, develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.\n\nWork extensively on both online and batch processing systems.\n\nAnalyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions.\n\nPerform unit testing, support system testing, resolve defects, and provide production support.\n\nTroubleshoot application and database issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent fixes.\n\nUse strong analytical skills to resolve complex technical problems.\n\nWork in an Agile development environment and participate in sprint ceremonies.\n\nUse JIRA to manage tasks, defects, and development activities.\n\nConduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.\n\nMentor junior developers and support the team in delivering high-quality outcomes.\n\nMaintain a strong focus on first-time-right delivery and zero defects in production.\n\nCollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.\n\nRequired Skills\n\nRequired 7 - 15 years of experience with Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM.\n\nStrong expertise in both online and batch JCL.\n\nVery good analytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nStrong database knowledge and experience.\n\nUnderstanding of Java programming.\n\nExperience using JIRA for work management.\n\nKnowledge of Agile development methodology.\n\nAbility to perform code reviews and mentor junior developers.\n\nVery good communication skills.\n\nStrong quality mindset with experience delivering high-quality, low-defect solutions.\n\nGood to Have\n\nExperience with IBM Debugger.\n\nFamiliarity with GitHub.\n\nThe base salary for this position is $ 74,000 to $77,000 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies.
