The Resident Engineer (RE) will be responsible for the effective administration of the construction contract and will interact closely with the Construction Manager (CM). The selected candidate will have daily contact with the Contractor(s) Project Manager and Plant Operations and have the primary responsibility for quality assurance of the construction.\nAdditional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nEnsure the Project Quality Plans interface satisfactorily with the requirements of the Contract.\nEnsure implementation of the Quality Plan for the project.\nOversee the field operation to ensure schedules are adhered to and the overall construction program maintained.\nOversee the field staff and deploy in such a manner as to minimize cost and maximize production, i.e.: deploy staff using day and night shifts to minimize overtime and travel.\nReview and monitor the Contractor’s daily and weekly work progress and compared to what has been shown in the schedule. Report any delays or lost time to the CM for action.\nConsult with the CM on construction problems and recommend corrective actions.\nCoordinate the activities of the contracts with outside agencies and utilities.\nEnsure job safety procedures in the accepted HASP(s) are strictly adhered to.\nDirect the activities of the Assistant Resident Engineer(s) Chief Inspectors and Office Engineers.\nDirect public and media inquiries to the appropriate department representative.\nPrepare all project related correspondence and provide to CM for final review prior to issuance.\nConduct job coordination and progress meetings.\nEnsure the project daily inspection reports are timely, complete and certified by an authorized person.\nPrepare and review monthly estimates and final payments.\nEnsure staff maintains high ethical standards.\nReview monthly progress reports to client.\nReview and comment on CPM Schedule updates.\nQualifications BA/BS in mechanical, electrical, or civil/structural engineering plus 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education\nP.E. license or ability to obtain license within 1 year of hire\nOSHA 10-hour Construction Health and Safety Course\nDemonstrated experience with wastewater construction infrastructure projects and wastewater mechanical process equipment installation\nPreferred Qualifications OSHA 30-hour Construction Health and Safety Course\nScaffolding Training\nErosion and Sediment Control Training\nBEDC EHS Standards Training (4 Hour)\nHAZWOPER 40\nPMIS- e-Builder Training\nAdditional Information Relocation assistance is not available for this role\nSponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\nAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
