Distribution Manager

Contract length: 6 months Contract with hireSchedule: Fulltime (36 hr work, 40 hour pay), Fri, Sat, Sun from 7a to 7pJob Responsibilities:Support all safety programs ensuring a safe work environmentReview forecasts and determine labor needs to meet daily, weekly, and monthly objectivesMeet with team on a daily basis to balance labor, ensuring that you are operating a balanced and efficient shift while meeting daily deadlinesFoster an environment that harbors continuous improvement and the elimination of non-value added activitiesEnsure proper training of staff in order to effectively and efficiently meet customer demandSupport, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforceEnsure materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory and finished goods, packaged according to specification, and shipped in a timely mannerEnsure quality objectives are met while operating within the allocated budget and meeting delivery deadlines while being flexible and working efficientlyManage inventory control to ensure accountability of materials and goodsEstablish appropriate communications (content and frequency) with the team to align focus and efforts with organizational and customer needs.Establish and/or modify operational methods and procedures as neededRecommend changes to policies and procedures to improve area of responsibility or organization as a wholeMaintain documentation and prepare reports that reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activitiesEstablish and manage goals for self and/or team that meet or exceed departmental objectivesCollaborate with peer group, senior management, and field personnel to problem-solve and/or resolve issues among functional areas, other sites, or customers and the companyManage and sustain product traceability systems, utilizing WMS/Oracle, to support customer and quality requirementsEnsure health, safety and cleanliness of the work environment overseeing that inspection and maintenance of equipment is done on a regular basisOther tasks and responsibilities as assignedRequired Qualifications & Experience:Minimum 10 years of experience in a warehouse/distribution environmentMinimum 3 years of supervisory experienceMust have demonstrated experience in implementing inventory control systems, distribution operations programs, and continual improvement programsStrong familiarity with MS Office applicationsPrior WMS experienceKnowledge and understanding of federal and local OSHA safety regulations related to warehousing and shipping environmentsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust possess a customer-centric commitment to build and maintain customer relationshipsEnergetic, self-motivated, and quick-thinking with a positive attitudePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferred or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience with Oracle or comparable Supply Chain/Logistics systemsExperience with a Warehouse Management System
