Our engineering team supports a diverse set of tools and systems that power lien resolution operations, client transparency, and decision-making across the company. In this role, you'll design and maintain reliable data pipelines, optimize data storage and retrieval, and contribute to the design of Zipliens information architecture to balance data security, data integrity, and report performance. You’ll examine and model data to ensure that our systems and reporting deliver accurate, timely, and actionable insights. This role requires close collaboration and clear communication with data analysts, product owners, and engineers to build scalable data infrastructure, with the initiative to identify and address problems proactively, and contribute to data quality standards that will support the next generation of Zipliens applications.\n\nRequirements\n\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop and optimize SQL queries and database schemas for efficient data retrieval and storage.\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable ETL processes.\nDevelop and maintain scripts for data processing.\nEnsure scalability and performance optimization of data pipelines and queries.\nDevelop and implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and reliability.\nContribute to the development and maintenance of data quality standards and best practices.\nCollaborate with data analysts to understand requirements and deliver solutions that enable effective reporting and analytics.\nMaintain a working knowledge of Zipliens applications and systems.\nDesign and build reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.\nCommunicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nDocument data models, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics or equivalent practical experience.\n4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Senior Data Developer, or similar role.\nStrong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and cloud-based data storage solutions (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).\nExperience with ETL tools and techniques.\nExperience with a general-purpose programming language (Python preferred).\nExperience with data quality tools (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests).\nExperience with version control (Git; GitHub preferred).\nFamiliarity with data warehousing concepts and data modeling principles.\nFamiliarity with reporting/BI tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Oracle BI, or equivalent).\nUnderstanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services is a plus.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data integrity, data quality, performance, and reliability across the full data lifecycle, from database constraints to business-facing reporting.\nCollaborative mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.\nSelf-starter with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach who is comfortable identifying problems and proposing solutions without waiting for explicit direction.\nThis role requires on-site presence at least three days per week (60%) in our Franklin, TN office.\n\nBenefits\n\nBenefits\nComprehensive Health Benefits (Medical, Dental, and Vision), including HSA with employer contributions, FSA, and Dependent Care FSA\nCompany-Paid Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability\n401(k) Plan with Company Match\nPaid Time Off (Vacation, Sick Leave, and 10 Holidays)\nPartially Paid Parental Leave\n\nPay Disclosure: The total base salary range for this role is $89,000 - $120,000 annually, with an opportunity for a discretionary bonus.
