Storage Engineer","description":"Job Description\r\nThe Organization is seeking a senior Storage Backup Engineer focusing on designing and engineering an end-to-end backup solution for the Organizations infrastructure and applications using the latest software and features of NetBackup.\r\nThis role involves project-related work in an Engineering lab environment and is not an operational role.\r\nThis is an exciting, challenging and rewarding role for a dynamic senior technologist with a passion for delivering excellent products and services.\r\nThe core responsibility will be to provide and maintain integrated backup solutions for the Organizations applications.\r\nBy understanding specific requirements of the stakeholders, the Backup Engineer will test and certify new versions of NetBackup software and be able to develop end-to-end solutions for applications used at the Organization, including Oracle, VMware, MS-SQL, SharePoint, Sybase, etc.\r\nWorking both independently and as part of larger teams, the Backup Engineer will develop designs and test plans, execute the test plans, validate the design in a lab environment, and document the final solution.\r\nThe Backup Engineer is responsible for developing and documenting global standards.\r\nWhen possible, the Backup Engineer will integrate automation into the solutions, either via custom scripts or third-party solutions.\r\nThe Backup Engineer will provide third-level support for the operations teams, including working closely with both the Organizations operations teams and the vendors to troubleshoot critical production issues.\r\nQualifications\r\nExpertise with NetBackup 7.5/7.6 software and major features\r\nExperience in large scale environments, consisting of thousands of clients\r\nExtensive experience backing up virtual environments (ESX) and database environments (Oracle, MS-SQL, Sybase)\r\nExtensive experience with different target media, including tape libraries, spinning disk, VTL, etc.\r\nExperience with encryption solutions and key management\r\nExcellent communication and documentation skills\r\nExperience with Linux and/or Windows system administrator tasks\r\nScripting skills in PERL, shell or similar\r\nGood understanding of server hardware to support media and master servers\r\nAbility to understand and interpret stakeholder
