This individual must be a go-getter, who is client focused.\nThis position works closely with other engineers, project managers, and Client team members in support of both capital and operational improvement projects. The position requires implementing sound engineering principles to ensure project designs are safe and at the industry’s cutting edge. An ability to work independently, self-motivate, and communicate effectively with team members is of the utmost importance to this position.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nCheck installation of electrical equipment (cables, panels, switchgear, transformers).\nVerify compliance with client’s design drawings and specifications.\nPerform insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, and loop checks.\nConduct functional testing of protection relays and control circuits.\nConfirm readiness of auxiliary systems (battery banks, HVAC, lighting).\nCoordinate safe energization of systems in phases\nTest interlocks, alarms, and protection schemes under live conditions.\nValidate SCADA and remote-control functionality.\nIdentify and resolve issues during startup\nAdjust settings and calibrate instruments as needed.\nPrepare commissioning reports, punch lists, and as-built documentation.\nSupport client handover and training.\nTesting Equipment such as Megger, Omicron, HiPot, CT/PT testers\nRequirements:\nExperience\nFive plus (5+) years of experience in electrical engineering\nExperience with power generation facilities is strongly preferred\nEducation\nBachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or equivalent experience is required.\nCumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 Scale.\nExcel Engineering Offers\nCompetitive salary\nContinuing education and on the job training\nRetirement plan – 401(k) matching\nCompetitive, comprehensive insurance package\nWellness program\nPaid time off\nFlexible schedule and work environment\nExcel Engineering is focused on cultivating a high performing culture where a service oriented approach, continuous improvement and goal orientation are valued.
