In human words, we move cargo from point A to point B on the road with a truck.\nARE YOU ONE OF US?\nThis position belongs to the Operations Team and reports to the Operations Manager. The Logistics Clerk will be responsible for coordinating logistics activity and providing customer support on freight movement.\nJob Descriptions:\nOperations Management\nImplement the company's overall values, mission and strategic goals.\nCreate detailed business plans designed to attain predetermined goals.\nProvide direction and leadership to all staff at this facility.\nDevelop and manage a comprehensive strategy for operation and financial performance.\nDirect, lead and evaluate employees' work and ensuring a healthy corporate culture.\nManage the branch’s day-to-day operations and generation of revenue to ensure it grows continuously.\nCollaborate with President and other managers on business development and interdepartmental issues.\nRespond to complaints and escalate issues for prompt resolution.\nCover daily operational tasks when short-staffed/ needed.\nAssume other responsibilities as assigned.\nBusiness Development\nContribute to business development strategy, sales innovations and the overall profitability of the company.\nPresent logistics services available to prospective and existing clients.\nUnearth new business opportunities and turn them into long-term partnerships.\nHelp manage the company's finances to achieve financial goals.\nResponsible for facility P&L and budget preparation.\nConduct periodic departmental audits.\nStay aware of competitors, the market, expansion opportunities and new industry standards and development.\nProvide insight and information to support business development.\nDrive improvement to quality and cost control while expanding capabilities within the facility.\nEmployee Development\nEnsure the daily pre-shift meetings cover previous shift issues, operational problems, and workload forecast.\nEnsure all new employees are properly onboarded and trained.\nCommunicate department goals and individual performance expectations.\nManage employee performance to achieve goal requirements.\nResolve employee relation issues and implement disciplinary actions if needed.\nExpand a team at this branch based on sales, forecasts, and historical data.\nTravel to other branches for company meetings or training if needed.\nSafety and Security\nEnsure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the facility to meet service standards.\nImplement, promote, and adhere to company policies and procedures.\nSupport and participate in all safety and compliance initiatives at the facility.\nPrevent incident and injury by overseeing accident investigations, coordinating on compliance matters, and implementing necessary improvements\nQualifications\nMinimum five years of supervisory or management experience within trucking / CFS office and warehouse operations.\nWorking knowledge of warehouse/trucking equipment.\nExperience interacting with various stakeholders, including customers, customs authorities, shipping agents, and government agencies.\nProficient in TMS & WMS.\nAbility to support office and warehouse operations when necessary.\nTeam leadership and project management experience.\nExcellent talent management, team building, and crisis management skills.\nExcellent crisis management skills and exceptional interpersonal skills.\nDemonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.\nProficient computer skills and professional communication etiquette.\nAvailability to work extended hours as needed by customer/shipment.\nBachelor’s degree preferred.\nBilingual in English and Chinese (Cantonese/ Mandarin) a plus.\nFORWARD TOGETHER\nForward Logistics is an employee forward company.
