That’s what makes us Roche.The Media Prep Lab Services Senior Technician contributes to producing microbiological media, cell culture media, various solutions, buffers, clean glassware and prepared equipment for use throughout GMP and/or R&D groups.In addition, the Media Prep Lab Services Senior Technician is responsible for working effectively within the group to meet department goals and objectives.The OpportunityPreparation of stock such as reagents, buffers, microbiological, tissue culture and requested custom media as needed. Operate process equipment, which includes autoclaves, washers, ovens, tanks, and benchtop instrumentsManaging level of media stock and glassware inventory in all areas of operations and responsible for executing glass wash and equipment preparation activitiesCleaning, sterilizing, preparing and distributing of glassware and equipmentDemonstrate technical expertise and strength including mastery in media preparation, glassware operations, equipment and instruments usedSupporting the team by providing training and technical assistance. Maximize production output including documentation and labor efficiency while meeting required safety and quality levelsWho You AreYou hold a BS/BA in one of the life sciences or equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experienceExperience in media prep and glassware operations or related operational environmentMechanical aptitude, familiarity with sterilizing/cleaning equipment Preferred RequirementsLEAN or other Operational Excellence training and experience a plusBehaviors, competencies, and qualities of the ideal Media Prep Lab Services Senior TechnicianStrong interpersonal, communication, organizational skillsAbility to lead a team, if necessary, in a performance based, customer focused operational organizationStrong ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in both media prep and glassware operationsSuccessful demonstration of collaboration and teamworkStrong ability to focus on quality, attention to detail and delivering results. Ability to provide technical support and training for new techniciansEffectively influence others to achieve goals. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $62,500.00 - $116,100.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
