Construction Superintendent
Overview A respected construction management firm in the metro Detroit area is seeking experienced Superintendents to oversee upcoming commercial (school) and multi-family residential projects. These are high-visibility roles for leaders who take pride in quality, safety, and delivering projects that make a lasting community impact.
About the Role The Superintendent is responsible for managing all field operations on assigned projects — ensuring that work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This position oversees subcontractors, coordinates construction activities, enforces safety policies, and ensures adherence to project specifications and company procedures.
Superintendents will work closely with Project Managers, Owners, and trade partners to deliver exceptional results from preconstruction through closeout.
Key Responsibilities Oversee all on-site construction activities, managing subcontractors and day-to-day operations
Maintain accountability for safety, schedule, quality, and productivity on assigned projects
Lead weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors and project teams
Ensure full compliance with OSHA/MIOSHA safety standards and company policies
Monitor progress, resolve field conflicts, and proactively manage schedule adjustments
Conduct inspections, enforce quality standards, and maintain accurate site documentation
Collaborate with Project Managers to align field execution with project budgets and timelines
Foster strong relationships with clients, design teams, and trade partners
Qualifications 10+ years of construction experience, which includes K–12 or educational project work
Experience as a full project superintendent managing the entire site (not trade-specific)
Skilled at leading 5–27 subcontractors and coordinating daily field operations
Experience with projects up to $20M required
5–10 years as a superintendent, which includes multi-family residential construction (apartments, townhomes, or large housing developments)
Proven success managing developer-driven projects with tight schedules and complex logistics
Full site oversight with strong multi-trade coordination experience
