This role focuses on delivering outstanding service and financial profitability while supervising cooks and stewards and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.\n\nEssential Functions and Duties:\n\nSupervises and coordinates the activities of cooks and stewards during assigned shifts.\n\nPrepares food items and ensures orders are executed according to designated recipes and quality standards.\n\nEnsures all stations are properly set prior to service and that closing duties are performed.\n\nMonitors cleanliness and ensures compliance with food sanitation standards at all times.\n\nOversees inventory, ensuring sufficient stock of kitchen supplies and food.\n\nMaintains quality and consistency of all food served during assigned shifts.\n\nPrepares requisitions for food and supplies as needed.\n\nAssists in controlling food costs and labor by adjusting schedules based on occupancy and workload.\n\nSupports management in training, counseling, disciplining, and coaching staff.\n\nReports maintenance and security issues to the appropriate department promptly.\n\nEnsures proper food handling and storage procedures are followed according to regulations.\n\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.\n\nRequired Experience, Education, and Skills:\n\nMinimum of two years of culinary education or four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nAt least two years of experience in a culinary leadership role, preferably in a hotel environment.\n\nStrong understanding of food product options, standard recipes, and preparation methods.\n\nBanquet experience is preferred.\n\nAbility to read and follow Banquet Event Orders.\n\nMust be able to obtain required government licenses or certifications, such as the State Health certificate; CPR or First Aid training is preferred.\n\nFlexibility to work AM or PM shifts as needed.\n\nStrong supervisory skills, including the ability to train, counsel, and motivate team members.\n\nWork Environment:\n\nPrimarily works in an indoor environment near moving mechanical parts with exposure to extreme heat.\n\nFrequent exposure to cleaning chemicals throughout the day.\n\nFlexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.\n\nOther Duties:\n\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the team member for this job.
