This role requires prior, hands-on experience in the lumber industry (wholesale, retail, supplier, or manufacturing) and a strong understanding of lumber species/grades/treatments/applications, and supply chain dynamics.Our Sales Professionals promote and sell a diverse portfolio of lumber products (www.lumbermenassoc.com/products). We have two openings in our Sales team.Position 1 is focused on Industrial Lumber and Retail LumberyardsPosition 2 is focused on Fencing and Specialty LumberProduct Line Focus Position 1Industrial LumberSell industrial lumber solutions to manufacturers and distributors of pallet/box manufacturersUnderstand grade, species, moisture content, and dimensional requirementsCoordinate supply consistency and volume commitmentsRetail LumberyardsPanel productsDimensional lumberProduct Line Focus Position 2FencingSell fencing materials and components to contractors and retailersSpecialty Lumber (Decking, Trim, Porches)Sell premium PVC decking trim and porch tongue & groove deckingGuide customers on aesthetics, performance, and installation considerationsStay current on trends in outdoor living and specialty construction materialsResponsibilities for both positions1. Sales/Business DevelopmentIdentify, pursue, and grow new and existing customer accounts within assigned territories or market segments initial focus will on the existing book of businessDevelop strong relationships with existing and new customersGenerate sales opportunities through proactive outreach and industry networkingPrepare and present product recommendations, pricing, and quotations tailored to customer applicationsOccasionally attend industry tradeshows and events to make connections and promote company products/services2. Account Management & Customer SupportManage accounts from quote through delivery, ensuring accuracy and customer satisfactionCoordinate with operations, purchasing, and logistics teamsResolve pricing, delivery, or quality issues in a timely manner3. Market & Industry KnowledgeStay current on lumber pricing, market trends, and supply chain conditionsMonitor competitor offerings and identify growth opportunitiesInternal knowledge sharing on market conditions and customer needs4.
