Senior Industrial Engineer (Morrisville)

This is a Contract to Hire position!WHAT YOU'LL DOProduce and maintain capacity models, balanced line layouts, and production ramp plans to define labor planning, capex requirements, workstation design, and throughput gapsDesign effective facility layouts and production lines using CAD and simulation that meet process requirements, enable production targets, optimize resource allocation and material flow, and maximize productivity and quality for both low-rate and full-rate productionIdentify and champion improvements to key causes of high variability or production bottlenecks, driving actions to resolution across disciplines and stakeholdersTranslate and drive action from metrics, KPIs, and reporting associated with monitoring production line health and efficiency (e.g., cycle time, throughput rate, capacity, utilization, first-pass yield)Analyze manufacturing health to support decisions impacting Engineering (cut-in dates for new designs), Supply Chain (procurement signals), Manufacturing (clear-to-build signals and production priorities), and Growth (supply visibility to support demand commitments)Communicate effectively using graphical and analytical tools to support collaborative decision-making and provide clear, relevant status updatesLead the design of production lines and workstations for both low-rate and full-rate production using techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, time studies, and line balancingMentor junior industrial engineers, technicians, and peers on IE principles and best practicesInterface with vendors and suppliers on equipment specifications and RFQsDevelop and align standards across multiple sites to enable scalabilityCollaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing OperationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree or higher in industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, or aerospace engineering5+ years of experience in a high-rate manufacturing environment building complex products with strong data utilizationExperience in factory and production line design and setup, including value stream mapping, flow lines, continuous flow, one-piece flow, workstation design, and PFMEAExpertise in material flow systems: pull systems, Kanban, min/max calculations, part presentation, tote/bin packaging, and line-side rackingExperience with digital manufacturing tools such as Siemens Plant Simulation or Process Simulation (or equivalent)Proven ability to own an entire value chain end-to-end, coordinating across internal and external stakeholders to deliver on time with high quality standardsExperience with ERP, PLM, WMS, and MES systemsStrong background in Lean Manufacturing principles and implementationAbility to create and interpret engineering drawings for composite and metallic aerospace parts and assemblies, including GD&T, NDT methods, acceptance criteria, process specifications, and assembly methodsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience designing or standing up new production lines or factories from concept through detailed workstation designStrong data analysis skills, including filtering large datasets, identifying trends, and visualizing insightsKnowledge of design and manufacturing engineering processes, including:3D CAD modeling of parts and assemblies3D factory layout designManufacturing process planning for fabricated parts and complex assembliesSimulation of assembly processes, ergonomics, and discrete event systemsStrong background in manufacturing data analytics and statistical analysis, including SPCExperience in an aerospace composites manufacturing environment
