{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"1c684687de7c170db6d80699","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/1c684687de7c170db6d80699","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/1c684687de7c170db6d80699","title":"Controls Engineer","description":"If you are unable to complete this application due to a disability, contact this employer to ask for an accommodation or an alternative application process.\n\nLong Beach, CA, US\n\n19 days ago Requisition ID: 1062\n\nSalary Range: $50.00 To $55.00 Hourly\n\nLocation\nOnsite – Industrial Manufacturing / Stamping Operations\nTravel Required – Canada, Mexico, and Customer Sites\n\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to support electrical design, PLC programming, commissioning, and automation upgrades for mechanical and hydraulic stamping presses.\n\nThis role is responsible for the complete controls lifecycle including HMI development, PLC and Safety PLC programming, electrical hardware design, panel layouts, field device layouts, risk assessments, installation supervision, and full-line commissioning.\n\nThe ideal candidate brings strong industrial automation experience with the ability to lead electrical and controls efforts from concept through startup in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nHMI Design\nCreate new HMI programs using GP-Pro software on Proface hardware.\n\nModify and enhance existing HMI programs.\n\nValidate HMI functionality during customer buyoffs and commissioning.\n\nPLC Design & Programming\n\nRSLinx\n\nIAB\n\nMPE720\n\nPCwin\n\nMemosoft\n\nSimatic Step 7\n\nSupport controls programming across Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Toyopuc, and Yaskawa platforms.\n\nReview and validate PLC logic during customer acceptance testing.\n\nSafety PLC Design\nDevelop and modify Safety PLC programs using Allen-Bradley and Siemens safety systems.\n\nValidate machine safety logic during commissioning and buyoff activities.\n\nEnsure compliance with industrial safety standards.\n\nElectrical & Hardware Design\nCreate and modify electrical hardwire layouts using AutoCAD Electrical and IAB.\n\nDevelop panel layouts and field device layouts.\n\nSupport electrical hardware selection and system modifications.\n\nReview and confirm electrical designs during customer buyoffs.\n\nConduct risk assessments related to:\n\nHardware selection\n\nProject planning\n\nSupport mitigation planning and safe implementation strategies.\n\nSupervise engineers, electricians, and millwrights during installation activities.\n\nResolve field installation challenges in real time.\n\nFull Line Commissioning\nSupport complete line startup and commissioning.\n\nTroubleshoot PLC, electrical, mechanical, and controls systems.\n\nValidate equipment performance and production readiness.\n\nProvide startup support before, during, and after installation.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field;
