{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"1c651694de83041b04d0e08e","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/1c651694de83041b04d0e08e","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/1c651694de83041b04d0e08e","title":"Quality Engineer 1","description":"Overview\nPosition: Quality Engineer 1\n\nLocation: Mountain View, California\n\nDuration: On-Going contract\n\nEstimated Frequency: 30hrs per week\n\nCompensation: $47/hr.\n\nPosition Overview:\n\nJob Description:\n\nUtilize quality science techniques to effect continuous performance improvement at assigned suppliers.\n\nReviews, analyzes, and reports on quality discrepancies related to process, assembly, manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or electro-mechanical systems.\n\nEnsure that performance and quality of products conform to established company and regulatory standards.\n\nUse surveillance and auditing techniques to identify opportunities for process and product improvement.\n\nInterfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, supplier, and procurement (as appropriate) to ensure requirements / expectations are satisfied.\n\nFacilitate development of supplier recovery plans.\n\nMonitor and evaluate supplier process for compliance to purchase order and engineering requirements.\n\nCollaborate with supplier to investigate root cause and corrective actions when process or product deficiencies are detected.\n\nIdentify, plan, and facilitate cross-functional improvement activities.\n\nDeploy variation management tools and techniques at select suppliers to mitigate risk.\n\nHave performed Quality System Audits, AS9102 First Article Reviews.\n\nComputer proficiency and proficiency with MS Office products.\n\nAdditional Comments:\n\nTravel is required and may extend beyond the local area.\n\nInitial supplier assignments may change to meet customer requirements.\n\nWork hours are not fixed or guaranteed and may extend beyond 40 hours per week to meet customer requirements.\n\nAerospace supplier experience is preferred and may be used as the primary selection criteria among equally qualified candidates.\n\nSkills Requirement:\n\nProduction (or Manufacturing) Quality Assurance/Control in Aerospace industry (or similar).\n\nAbility to interpret blueprints and specifications.\n\nCollaborate with production personnel and stakeholders.\n\nIdentify and drive root cause and corrective actions.\n\nExecute on deliveries.\n\nAttention to Detail.\n\nStrong communication skills.\n\nIn process and Final Inspection.\n\nRequirements:\n\n3-5 years’ experience of Aerospace Quality requirements experience\n\nPrevious experience with AS9100 and AS9102 (ISO 9001 is desirable but not required)\n\nPrevious experience performing and/or evaluating First Article Inspections\n\nPrevious experience with blueprint reading\n\nPrevious experience in Root Cause analysis and Corrective Action/Preventative Action Development\n\nPrevious experience in auditing (any of these – ISO 9001, AS9100, Internal)\n\nMust be a US citizen\n\n“We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, political affiliation, marital status, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
