As part of a collaborative team of mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers, you will develop solutions from concept through prototype development, testing, documentation, and production.\nJob Duties: The Senior Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with teams to develop innovative, practical solutions and drive program success. Key responsibilities include product design, advanced engineering analysis, creating and delivering drawings, coordinating hardware fabrication, and authoring detailed technical procedures. The role also involves preparing presentations, field reports, cost estimates, and design reviews for diverse audiences. Additionally, the engineer will assist the Program Manager with technical, cost, and schedule requirements of current tasks and help shape strategies for future tasks based on customer needs. Ideal candidates are professional, self-motivated, innovative, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, working effectively with engineers, technicians, and customer staff.\nRequired Qualifications: Candidate must hold or be willing to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a bachelor’s degree, or three (3) years with an advanced degree.\nProduct development experience using rapid, iterative design and prototyping methods with frequent integration/test cycles\nPractical, hands-on experience building, testing, and troubleshooting prototypes, including motors, actuators, and sensors\nExperience with CAD software for mechanical design and documentation (SolidWorks & Revit preferred)\nDemonstrated written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, presentations, and documentation\nProficient in mechanics of materials, statics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer\nAbility to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary, collaborative team environment balancing diverse project tasks and types\nWorking knowledge of common hand and powered tools\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds\nWillingness and ability to travel for temporary assignments (less than 10% travel)\nDesired Qualifications: Coursework in Finite Element Analysis and Mechanics of Materials\nExperience with engineering data analysis tools such as Matlab and Mathcad\nExperience designing for and using additive manufacturing\nProfessional Engineer (PE) License in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline\nProject Management experience\nSalary & Benefits: The salary associated with this position ($64,000-$128,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise.
