We continue to do what AFG does best: helping owners and users solve facility-related problems.MEP InspectorAFG Group is seeking qualified individuals to serve as on-site Inspector(s) in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area. The Inspector(s) shall serve on building facility of various sizes and complexities.Responsibilities/Duties may include but are not limited to:Inspect the work of all construction activitiesCoordinate pre-construction meetingsRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics or computer-generated reportsInspection of contractor work in place to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and all applicable codesUnderstanding of scheduling, budgeting, materials and means/methods of construction industry design standardsCommunicate effectively with owner representatives, architects/engineers, end-users' clients and contractorsVerify change order scope of workVerify work in place quantities and record dates of installation on record drawingsReview and understand manufacturer details and contractor shop drawingsPreparing an Inspector's Daily Report (IDR) including manpower, equipment, materials, activities, photographs with identifications and producing project related reports as requiredProvide assistance as required for special inspectionsAssist in reviewing and advising on field conditions and RFI'sReviewing approved drawings for constructability and code complianceEnsure safe working conditionsPerforming other duties as may be requiredJob RequirementsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience7+ years' relevant experience managing and/or inspecting field workKnowledge of OSHA safety regulations, with 30 Hour OSHA Safety CertificationKnowledge of NYC DOB requirementsStrong verbal and written communication skillsPhysical and Environmental DemandsAscending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the likeCommunicating with others to exchange informationAssessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assignedOccasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spacesOccasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periodsOccasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to anotherOccasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directionsLow temperaturesHigh temperaturesOutdoor elements such as precipitation and windNoisy environmentsHazardous conditionsBenefitsAs an employee, you could be eligible for:Competitive Industry PayPaid Time Off and HolidaysFlex TimeBonus plansProfessional Learning and Membership IncentivesHealth, Dental, and Vision Plans100% Company-Paid Disability & Group LifeFlexible Spending Accounts401K with Employer MatchNew Parent LeaveRelocation AssistancePre-tax Commuter BenefitsQualified applicants at AFG Group, Inc. must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents and must meet client security requirements.
