You will develop scalable solutions using Python, PowerShell, REST APIs, and cloud technologies, while partnering with business and technical teams to deliver measurable operational improvements.\n\nIn addition to being a strong individual contributor, you will mentor junior team members, establish development best practices, and help shape Gregory Construction’s scripting-first automation strategy.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nAutomation Solution Development: Design, develop, test, and optimize automation scripts and integration solutions that reduce manual effort, improve efficiency, mitigate risk, and enhance business processes.\nAPI Integration: Lead API integration efforts involving authentication, rate limiting, webhooks, error handling, data transformation, data pipelines, and production-grade reliability.\nEnd-to-End Project Ownership: Own automation and integration projects from requirements gathering and solution design through development, testing, deployment, monitoring, documentation, and ongoing support.\nPython & PowerShell Development: Build reliable, maintainable, and scalable automation solutions using Python and/or PowerShell.\nDevelopment Standards & DevOps: Establish and promote coding standards, source control practices, unit and integration testing, CI/CD processes, observability, and high-quality technical documentation.\nProduction Support & Reliability: Monitor production automations, troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement appropriate logging, metrics, alerts, and other observability practices.\nMentorship: Mentor junior IT team members in scripting, APIs, development practices, troubleshooting, documentation, and professional growth.\nContinuous Improvement: Evaluate new tools, technologies, and approaches that can strengthen Gregory Construction’s automation capabilities while maintaining appropriate security and governance.\nBusiness Partnership: Work closely with business and technical teams to identify high-value automation opportunities, understand requirements, and translate business needs into effective technical solutions.\nDocumentation: Create and maintain clear technical documentation for scripts, integrations, processes, configurations, and support procedures.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.\n2–5+ years of professional experience delivering IT automation, scripting, software integration, or API-based solutions.\nStrong proficiency in Python and/or PowerShell, including experience writing maintainable, production-quality code.\nProven experience working with REST APIs, including authentication, error handling, data transformation, and common integration patterns.\nExperience with Git/source control, automated testing, and basic CI/CD practices.\nExperience working with databases and data-driven integrations.\nDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and support solutions in production environments.\nAbility to independently manage technical projects and priorities while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nStrong documentation, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, including native cloud services and API integrations.\nPrevious experience mentoring junior technical team members or leading small technical projects.\nKnowledge of security best practices for automation, APIs, credentials, secrets, authentication, and system integrations.\nExperience implementing logging, monitoring, alerting, and other observability practices.\nRelevant technical certifications, such as Microsoft Azure, Python, or related development and cloud certifications.\nWhat Success Looks Like\n\nThe successful candidate will be able to identify opportunities where technology can eliminate repetitive work, design a practical solution, and carry that solution all the way into reliable production use.
