At E2, we value safety, innovation and collaboration, and we are dedicated to excellence.\nOverview:\nE2 is looking for a senior-level Distribution Engineer to join our team in our greater Portland or Salt Lake City area to support several major electric utility clients. This role is responsible for the preparation and development of distribution voltage construction packages for both overhead and underground construction. Projects include, but are not limited to: Pole Replacements, Reconductoring, True Up Modifications, Equipment Upgrades, and Overhead-to-Underground conversions. The position will work under the direction of the Distribution Supervising Engineer or Engineering Manager.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop detailed design and construction packages of overhead and/or underground electric distribution projects to comply with the client’s standards, specifications, preferences, and relevant industry standards.\nSignificant knowledge of the design and operation of overhead and underground distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV).\nProvide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.\nDesign distribution projects with neatness and a small margin for error utilizing PLS-CADD, O-Calc, SPIDA-Calc, or PoleForeman software.\nPerform engineering calculations such as: structural analysis for wood pole loading, guying calculations, specifying conductor sags and tensions for recommended spans, and calculation of voltage drop and flicker.\nInterface with project management and designers during the design phase.\nCommunicate and coordinate project activities with the supervising engineer, client, and other stakeholders as needed.\nPerform careful quality review activities of junior engineers to ensure the quality of work.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nRequired\nBachelor of Science in Engineering.\n7+ years of experience working in distribution design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm.\nExcellent knowledge of electrical distribution systems and power flow.\nProficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nPreferred\nLicensed Professional Engineer strongly preferred but not required.\nExperience with distribution design and construction standards for PacifiCorp.\nAbility to develop and maintain PLS-CADD model to support electric distribution design.\nExperience leading technical teams.\nBenefits:\nE2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off.\nWork Environment/Physical Demands:\nWork Environment\nThis job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
