(MTSI) is seeking a SATCOM Requirements Systems Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. You will join a systems engineering team defining the next generation of space communication systems supporting US Space Force (USSF) satellite communications. You will support Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.\n\nWe will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and members of the USSF. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nSupport Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities to assist with development and maintenance of technical baselines.\n\nDevelop, refine, and manage system and subsystem requirements, ensuring they are clear, traceable, and verifiable.\n\nAnalyze system requirements and participate in verification activities, including review of TRDs, ICDs, and related documentation.\n\nWork with government and contractor teams to identify and close requirements gaps using tools such as DOORS.\n\nSupport and occasionally lead technical working groups: preparing meeting materials, documenting minutes, tracking actions, and fostering collaborative problem‑solving.\n\nAssist in assessing impacts to the system technical baseline and identifying integration considerations across stakeholders.\n\nReview program documentation, capture reviewer comments, and collaborate with contractors on adjudication.\n\nProvide technical input and assist in developing briefings for USSF program leadership.\n\nParticipate in risk, issue, and dependency management activities; help identify disconnects and propose solutions.\n\nWork Environment\n\nLocation: On‑site\n\nTravel Requirements: Minimal\n\nWorking Hours: Standard\n\nQualifications\nRequired:\n\nAbility to obtain an Active Secret clearance is required for this position.\n\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related technical field.\n\n3‑5 years of experience in systems engineering or requirements management.\n\nExperience with requirements specification, analysis, and verification.\n\nFamiliarity with requirements traceability tools (e.g., DOORS).\n\nStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.\n\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).\n\nDesired:\n\nMaster’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science).\n\nINCOSE ASEP/CSEP/ESEP certification.\n\nMBSE certification (OCSMP).\n\nExperience with Agile development tools or methodologies.\n\nKnowledge of Jira and Confluence.\n\nExperience with MILSATCOM systems (AEHF, EPS, WGS, Tactical SATCOM, COMSATCOM).\n\nBackground working with DoD or military customers.\n\nFamiliarity with space and ground systems such as satellite communications, terminals, or DoD networks.\n\nCompensation\nThe pay range for this position in California is $98,000/year to $122,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
