Beginning of Year Schedule: August 17, 2026: New Hire Orientation August 17-20, 2026: New Teacher Orientation August 24-28 and September 1, 2026: Teacher Days September 2, 2026: First Day of School Summary: The Curriculum & Learning Coach works through the lens of continuous improvement to increase student learning outcomes by supporting curriculum development, school/district projects, and increasing the capacity of teachers and other instructional staff through embedded professional learning and coaching guided by the timely and consistent use of data. A CURRENT WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION TEACHING LICENSE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION. Key Skills and Abilities: • Ability to work with all members of the school and district community • Proven history of student success using a problem-solving approach • Strong communicator • Embrace being a productive member of a highly effective team • Systems thinker and problem solver • Develop and deliver engaging professional learning • Build the capacity of others through coaching • Understanding of data and ability to apply data analysis in a Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include: • Work as a part of school and district teams to: • Provide coaching to teachers and teams in curriculum alignment, instructional strategies, data analysis and assessment • Facilitate the development of curriculum in coordination with the Director of Curriculum, Learning & Analytics, Building Administrators, and Curriculum Chairs/Grade Level Leads • Train and support SDMF instructional staff in the use of continuous improvement • Lead and support work related to district and school strategic priorities • Collaborate with coaches across the district to support the most impactful instructional practices • Coordinate and lead professional development at the school and district levels • Support timely data review by supporting teachers and administrators in making data-driven decisions to impact student achievement • Other duties as assigned Desired Minimum Qualifications • A current Wisconsin teaching license is required for this position. • A minimum of three years successful teaching experience • Experience leading teacher teams • Experience leading professional learning • A clear understanding of current research and trends in education • Demonstrated skill and experience in curriculum leadership • Willingness to attend appropriate classes, workshops, and conferences and the ability to share updated information with others • Ability to lead and work as a member of a professional learning community/team Equal Opportunity It is the policy of the District that no person may be illegally discriminated against in employment by reason of their age, race, creed, color, disability, pregnancy, marital status, sex, citizenship, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, arrest record, conviction record, military service, membership in the National Guard, state defense force or any other reserve component of the military forces of Wisconsin or the United States, political affiliation, use or nonuse of lawful products off the employer's premises during nonworking hours, declining to attend a meeting or to participate in any communication about religious matters or political matters, the authorized use of family or medical leave or worker's compensation benefits, genetic information, or any other factor prohibited by state or federal law.
