In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ensuring that application business needs and performance requirements are met. The role requires technical skills across a breadth of technologies. Interaction with both user communities and the technical community is required.\nResponsibilities:\nCollaboration with developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure the database meets organizational needs.\nInstall and configure SQL database systems.\nCreate and modify database objects, including tables, views, functions, and stored procedures.\nImplement and maintain regular database backups.\nDevelop and test disaster recovery plans.\nMonitor database performance and identify bottlenecks.\nOptimize SQL queries and database configurations for improved efficiency.\nImplement database security measures to protect sensitive data.\nManage user access and permissions, ensuring data confidentiality.\nApply software patches and updates to maintain system stability.\nPerform routine database maintenance tasks, such as index optimization and data purging.\nScale database systems as needed to accommodate growth.\nSet up monitoring tools to proactively detect and resolve database issues.\nMaintain documentation of database configurations, processes, procedures, & schema diagrams.\nProvide technical support and guidance to colleagues as needed.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve database-related issues.\nThe ability to adapt to new technologies and keep up with industry trends and best practices.\nEfficiently manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.\nWork within a DevOps environment or similar environment.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nRequired:\nA bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology\n4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Products including Visio\nIn-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including various versions such as SQL Server and Azure SQL Database.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Azure services related to SQL databases, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Data Bricks, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure Data Factory.\nUnderstanding of database design principles, normalization, denormalization, and SQL Query Plan Optimization.\nProficiency in query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning to ensure optimal database performance.\nStrong knowledge of T-SQL for automating database tasks and maintenance.\nKnowledge of database backup and recovery strategies, with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), including both on-premises and Azure-based solutions.\nUnderstanding of database security best practices, including role-based access control, encryption, and auditing\nAbility to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance.\nPreferred:\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate\nMicrosoft Certified: Data Administrator Associate\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals\nWhat we offer:\nExcellent growth and advancement opportunities\nCompetitive pay based on experience.\nDiscretionary Time Off (DTO)\nGenerous benefits package: health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.\nEmployee Stock Purchase Plan\nTuition Reimbursement and Student Loan Repayment Assistance\nMental Health Resources\nWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
