This role ensures that all estimates align with operational capabilities, established pricing strategies, and project profitability goals. The manager coordinates with sales, project management, and field operations to ensure estimates accurately reflect real-world execution conditions and scope requirements. Additionally, the role maintains estimating tools and historical data libraries to support team efficiency and consistency.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nTeam Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of service estimators, providing technical guidance and performance coaching.\nOperational Delivery: Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of estimates, proposals, and pre-sale documentation to meet project deadlines.\nQuality Control: Review and approve team estimates for accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with margin targets.\nData Maintenance: Support the maintenance of pricing databases, including labor rates, materials, and subcontractor costs.\nInternal Collaboration: Partner with sales and operations to clarify project scope, identifying potential constraints or value-add opportunities.\nProcess Efficiency: Utilize and refine estimating templates and workflows to reduce turnaround time and maintain consistency across the team.\nPerformance Tracking: Manage and report on KPIs associated with the delivery and accuracy of estimates and proposals.\nRisk Assessment: Ensure team estimates account for safety, logistics, and execution risks.\nCustomer Support: Assist with proposal creation and participate in customer bid reviews as required.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\n5+ years of experience in cost estimating or proposal development, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.\nStrong knowledge of service operations, including labor planning and material costing.\nProficiency with estimating software and advanced Microsoft Excel (cost models, pivot tables).\nProven ability to manage a team under tight deadlines across multiple project types.\nStrong analytical skills with a focus on margin discipline and attention to detail.\nExcellent communication skills and experience coordinating with cross-functional teams.\nFamiliarity with ERP systems and CRM platforms preferred.\nGeneral Job Requirements\nThis position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.\n\nEnerSys provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.\n\nKnow Your Rights\n\nKnow Your Rights (Spanish)\n\nWe use artificial intelligence to screen, assess and select applicants for open positions, including for the purposes of reviewing and ranking application materials and scoring answers to application questions.
