For more than 22 years, we have specialized in comprehensive transmission planning studies and analyses—equipping clients with the insights needed to maintain resources efficiently, ensure system reliability, and make informed design decisions.\nThis position works closely with other engineers, project managers, and Client team members in support of both capital and operational improvement projects.\nPrimary responsibilities\nPeople Management: lead & inspire, mentor & coach, assist with talent acquisition & retention, manage personnel performance, perform regular performance reviews\nProject Execution: assign and plan resources, monitor project budgets, engage and monitor project stakeholders, and on occasion act as lead engineer on projects\nTechnical Expertise: ensure department processes, procedures and instructions are up to date and utilized, provide technical direction and support, resolve technical challenges, ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulations\nClient Satisfaction & Project Sales: Regularly engage Clients to maintain relationships and communicate about systemic issues, solicit feedback from client stakeholders, assist with the development and submittal of proposals, identify and follow up on prospective project opportunities\nStrategic Alignment: Hold department meetings to identify, discuss and solve department issues, convey issues to management, align department initiatives with company annual and/or quarterly goals\nRequirements:\nQUALIFICATIONS\nExperience\nMinimum of six (6) years or more of experience in electrical engineering design\nSupervisory or team lead experience is preferred\nIndustrial electrical design experience in the following industries preferred: manufacturing, consumer goods, renewable energy, gas processing, chemical, and/or life sciences\nExpertise in National electrical Code (NEC), NFPA70E, and other applicable codes and standards\nProfessional Engineer (PE) licensure is strongly preferred\nEducation\nB.S in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institute. Concentration in power preferred.\nCumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale\nSkills Applicable to The Role\nEffective interpersonal skills\nAbility to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization in a team environment\nExcellent communication skills in English, both in words and in writing; ability to generate client communication correspondence and presentations\nProject and/or resource planning\nProject management\nProposal and manhour estimate development\nProficiency in SKM PowerTools, ETAP, PowerWorld or similar power system modeling software\nProficiency with Schweitzer Electrical Laboratories, Basler and GE protection products and software\nStrong knowledge of MS Office\nProficiency in AutoCAD\n\nExcel Engineering is focused on cultivating a high performing culture where a service-oriented approach, continuous improvement and goal orientation are valued.
