You'll be responsible for Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, databases, observability, and infrastructure-as-code. The role demands strong collaboration with development, operations, and security teams to ensure resilient deployments and reliable service delivery in distributed systems.\r\nResponsibilities Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Argo CD, etc.\r\nAutomate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.\r\nDeploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters in cloud and on-premises environments (EKS, AKS, GKE, Rancher, RKE2, k3s, OpenShift).\r\nEnforce Kubernetes security best practices (RBAC, PodSecurity, secrets, network policies).\r\nMonitor and tune Kubernetes workloads for performance and reliability.\r\nAdminister, operate, and troubleshoot distributed database systems (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB, Cockroach DB, etcd) within Kubernetes, ensuring high availability, data consistency, and performance.\r\nEnsure high availability, scalability, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for databases.\r\nImplement observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Zabbix, etc.) for infrastructure and applications.\r\nPartner with dev teams to design scalable deployment patterns and troubleshoot pipeline/build/deploy issues.\r\nMaintain detailed technical documentation for environments, playbooks, and architectural decisions.\r\nMentor peers and team members in DevOps tools, Kubernetes, and cloud-native practices.\r\nQualifications Technical Skills\r\n3+ years managing Kubernetes in production\r\nExpertise with container tools (Docker, Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm).\r\nStrong CI/CD experience with GitLab, Jenkins, Argo CD, and GitOps workflows.\r\nProficient in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).\r\nDeep knowledge of managing distributed databases in Kubernetes including StatefulSets, PVCs, dynamic volume provisioning. Backup, recovery, scaling, and clustering techniques.\r\nCloud experience in on-prem, AWS, GCP, Azure or OpenStack; experience with hybrid/multi-cloud preferred.\r\nFamiliarity with service meshes and Kubernetes networking (Istio, Calico, Cilium).\r\nProficient in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.\r\nSoft Skills\r\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting abilities across app, infra, and DB layers.\r\nClear communication and ability to collaborate across development, QA, security, and operations.\r\nSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable in high-paced, on-call environments.\r\nExcellent documentation habits and focus on operational excellence.\r\nBonus / Preferred\r\nFamiliarity with compliance standards (FIPS, FedRAMP, FISMA).\r\nCertifications in Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), AWS/GCP, or Terraform.\r\nLocation: Santa Clara, US\r\n*Applicants must be authorized to work in the US\r\nThe pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range of $150,000 to $230,000.
