Assembly Controls Engineer

Job Summary:This role provides floor‑level controls support for engine, axle, and transmission assembly operations. The Controls Engineer acts as the technical escalation point when breakdowns exceed skilled trades capability and leads continuous improvement efforts to eliminate recurring equipment failures. The role is heavily hands‑on, troubleshooting PLCs, drives, servos, robots, and HMIs while supporting production uptime in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:Serve as lead controls contact for new and existing assembly equipmentTroubleshoot PLCs, drives, servos, robots, and HMIs during breakdownsSupport production when skilled trades need advanced technical assistanceLead continuous improvement projects to improve equipment KPIsAssist with controls design and procurement for new manufacturing equipmentNavigate technical documentation and identify proper spare partsParticipate in cross‑functional teams and weekend production coverage rotations
