Your success is our success.\nDescription\nJOB SUMMARY:\nDesign, advise and assist with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs and policieswhile interacting with employees in multiple areas of manufacturing of Textron Aviation aircraft.\nJOB RESPONISIBILITIES:\nDesign and assist with implementation of general safety and environmental policies and procedures to be followed in compliance with corporate policies and local, state, and federal EPA and OSHA rules and regulations.\nAttend Textron Corporate/Textron Aviation EHS meetings/seminars to stay abreast of policies and procedures, and transmits this information to leadership.\nResearch and find solutions for safety upgrades and challenges for environmental and health and safety issues.\nAssist/lead multifunctional teams in implementing EHS practices throughout the organization to build a positive culture.\nRespond to EHS concerns presented by management, supervision, and employees, and communicate possible solutions based on best practice principles.\nAssist with incident investigations on injuries or illnesses and provide recommendations to prevent recurrences, using the root cause analysis method.\nBe aware of basic Ergonomic principles and be willing to lead preliminary ergonomic Injury investigations and perform Ergonomic reviews by understanding the employee’s tasks and risks.\nProvide positive coaching to employees including developing and conducting effective safety training.\nProvide technical knowledge and support on Environmental, Health and Safety issues\nParticipate in community or industry EHS groups and programs.\nPerform other related duties as required by supervisor.\nMaintain and promote Textron/OSHA/EPA/DOT policies:\nInteract professionally and courteously with regulatory bodies\nOversee Industrial Hygiene programs\nGuide/communicate with external contactor activities\nAssist Textron Aviation in compliance with: federal, state and local environmental laws.\nMaintain all EHS related permits.\nWrite environmental reports regarding water, air, and hazardous waste.\nCoordinate shipments of hazardous wastes according to legal standards.\nSubmit injury information in corporate database.\nParticipate in the research, development and presentation of a variety of training programs.\nJoin in the development and compiling of training manuals and other training aids, and obtain equipment, training videos, and other materials for instructional purposes.\nQualifications\nEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor’s Degree required in:\nEnvironmental Health and Safety\nHealth Services Management\nMedical Administration\nOther related fields\nRelevant experience would include: Environmental Compliance, Safety, Health Management, Engineering, Workers Compensation Management and Leadership.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nQuickly grasps new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasks\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma desired\nComputer proficient\nBasic understanding ofEnvironmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job.
