City of New Smyrna Beach Public Works Department is seeking an Assistant Director | 124 Industrial Park Ave, NSB FL 32168 | Annual Salary $101,916.08Job SummaryThe Assistant Public Works Director under the direction of the Public Works Director plans, directs, organizes and controls the daily operations of the Maintenance Operations Department to include liaison with division supervisors to monitor the daily operations of department work progress. In the absence of the Department Director, this position assumes the functions of the Public Works Director.What We're Looking ForEducation and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, or a closely related field. Five (5) years of increasingly responsible public works experience, including two (2) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.Licenses Or Certifications Valid State Driver’s License. Must possess or obtain within six (6) months of employment certification in Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) from an accredited institution by the FDOT.
