Job Title: Fitter/Welder – Fabrication of Forms for Pre-CastingLocation: Lake Charles, LaJob Type: Full-TimeSchedule: 40 + hrs/wkPay: Competitive, based on experiencePosition SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and dependable Fitter/Welder to join our fabrication team. This role involves fitting, welding, assembling, repairing, and modifying metal concrete molds and forms used in precast concrete production. The ideal candidate will have experience with metal fabrication and the ability to produce high-quality work while maintaining safety and productivity standards.Key ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.Fit, tack, weld, and assemble steel molds and form components for precast concrete products.Perform MIG, FCAW, and/or stick welding on carbon steel materials.Fabricate new molds and modify existing molds to meet production requirements.Measure, cut, grind, and prepare materials using fabrication equipment and hand tools.Inspect completed work to ensure dimensional accuracy and weld quality.Repair damaged molds and perform routine maintenance as needed.Operate shop equipment safely, including saws, drills, presses, forklifts, and overhead cranes.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Follow all company safety policies and procedures.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of fitting and welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.Proficiency in MIG welding; additional welding processes are a plus.Strong measuring and layout skills.Experience working with structural steel, plate steel, and fabricated assemblies.Ability to use fabrication tools and equipment safely and effectively.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.Ability to work in a manufacturing or shop environment.Comfortable working around welding equipment, grinders, and fabrication machinery.Preferred QualificationsExperience in fabrication.Welding certifications are a plus.Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.BenefitsThis position will start as a 1099 employee (independent contractor).How to ApplyInterested candidates should submit a resume detailing their welding and fabrication experience.
