This developmental engineer-in-training (EIT) position involves assisting in the design and execution of substation projects that are crucial to the robustness and reliability of our power infrastructure. You will participate in all project phases, from initial planning and feasibility studies to design and construction administration. This role provides a unique opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills on a smaller scale initially, with the potential to take on greater responsibility as you gain experience.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign Assistance: Provide small scale design elements for substation projects using fundamental knowledge and established methods.\nPlan Production: Perform basic plan production tasks and receive specific instructions for necessary tasks.\nSoftware Proficiency: Develop and apply your knowledge and skills in design and modeling software.\nDocumentation Preparation: Assist with the preparation of project documentation and schedules and perform design calculations within a limited scope.\nTeam Coordination: Coordinate with experienced engineers and designers on non-routine techniques and procedures.\nResearch and Reporting: Gather research, recommend solutions, and create drafts of technical reports using prescribed methods.\nMentorship: Mentor student interns by providing opportunities to develop basic technical skills and knowledge.\n\nQualifications\n\nYou are passionate about:\nWorking collaboratively with others\nHaving ownership in the work you do\nUsing your talents to positively affect communities\nSolving problems\nProviding excellence in client service\nYou bring to the team:\nStrong communication skills\nAbility to contribute and work well on a team\nExcellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.\nBachelor’s degree in engineering.\nA minimum of one year of engineering experience.\nMust possess an Engineer Intern certificate (EI).\n\nAdditional Information\n\nOlsson is a nationally recognized, employee-owned firm specializing in planning and design, engineering, field services, environmental, and technology.
