Job DescriptionThe Adoption Recruiter (Older Youth Matching worker) will be responsible for transitioning youth to permanency via Adoption or Permanent Legal Custodianship from foster care, focusing primarily on children for whom it has been traditionally difficult to find families: older children, groups of siblings, and children with physical or emotional challenges. The position focuses on the recruitment of resource families for at least sixteen special needs children available for adoption in the Southeast PA area. Typically, these children have the goal of adoption and are between the ages of 10 – 18 years old. The Adoption Recruiter develops and implements recruitment strategies, promotes, markets, and attends events to promote and inform interested families about children on their caseload in efforts to identify an adoptive resource.A BA or BS degree in social services or related degree is required. 2 years' experience in child welfare or SWAN services and MSW preferred.This position includes extensive travel in the southeast area. At times a car rental can be used, but worker needs a valid driver’s license and car for most travel. Some travel will include transporting a youth to events to promote matching with a family. Mileage reimbursement is provided. Some evening and Saturday work is expected.Proficiency in reading, writing, and grammar is required. Proficiency in building interpersonal relations and communication skills; a thorough knowledge and understanding of child welfare and judicial systems; proficient keyboarding and PC skills.
