This paid apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to develop hands-on skills in tooling, machining, and manufacturing processes essential to producing high-quality plastic components in automotive, consumer and medical markets. You will work closely with experienced technicians to learn the intricacies of tool design, setup, maintenance, and repair within a fast-paced production environment. We are a climate controlled facility!\nResponsibilities:\nThis position provides support to tooling and will be required to have the ability to repair injection molds, including damaged and those in need of repair due to the normal wear. Responsibilities will include construction of fixtures and other devices for milling, drilling and other post molding finishing operations. This position follows and complies with safety procedures and requirements and must be able to modify injection molds to enhance performance. This will include gate and runner modifications of changes. This role also must be open to continuing their education thru the apprenticeship program and KVCC and be willing to take courses pertaining to the job.\nQualifications\nOpen to enroll, currently enrolled in or recently completed a technical or vocational program related to mold making or tooling in plastic injection molding.\nStrong mechanical aptitude with an interest in plastics injection molding technology and tooling processes.\nAbility to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining safety standards in a manufacturing environment.\nExcellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills and techniques related to manual machining, and toolroom operations.\nExcellent attendance is required and must be available to be called-in for short notive ovetime to help fix or repair broken tools.\nMust have a valid driver's license and clean driving record\nMust be willing to learn or have knowledge on operating a powered industrial truck and overhead crane.\nMust have high school diploma or GED.\n1-3 years of plastic Injection Molding experience is a preferred.\nPhysical Demands:\nAbility to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.\nAbility to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.\nMust be able to lift and carry up to 50#.\nLong periods of time standing/reaching/bending.\nEmbark on an exciting career journey where your technical skills will grow!
