The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading Finance and Accounting teams and being a key member of a company's executive leadership team.Strong preference will be given to candidates with significant experience in the real estate development industry, especially with hospitality experience.General Responsibilities IncludeServe as a key member of Reef's executive leadership team, including providing input on key strategic issues and challenges facing the companyLead the company's project-level construction / acquisition financing efforts, including being responsible for all aspects of raising the project-level debt needed for the construction or acquisition of our real estate assets as well as permanent debt upon stabilizationLead Reef's efforts to continue to grow and deepen on relationships with lendersWith the CEO, lead the company's efforts to raise appropriate debt and equity for Reef itself(not specific to a project) Lead the financial accounting team, including providing GAAP-compliant financials each month and successfully completing the annual auditLead Reef's tax compliance and planning efforts, including ensuring all tax filings are timely and accurate, and all projects are structured in the optimal manner for tax minimizationOversee the financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, cash-management, and long-term financial modelingMonitor changes in the projected performance of each of our investments and track actual performance against initial budgetsLead the annual budget process, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and reporting each month on budgets vs. actuals for each departmentConduct variance analysis to understand differences between budgeted and actual results, identifying trends and recommending corrective actionsEvaluate and advise on investment activities, including capital expenditures, mergers & acquisitions, and project financingPrepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to senior management as well as "real-time" KPIs and dashboardsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferredMinimum of 15 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 10 years in a leadership role. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the real estate development or hospitality industriesProven track record of raising significant debt or other types of financing (EB5, 1031, equity etc.), including doing multiple nine-figure financing raises simultaneously.
