You'll work closely with the Production Manager to ensure optimal operations and continuous improvement.What You'll Do:As a Production Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for:Leading, coaching, and developing your production team to meet daily goals and safety standards. Driving safety initiatives and maintaining a clean, organized work environment to promote a culture of safety and quality. Setting and maintaining shift standards for product quality, efficiency, and housekeeping, ensuring adherence to company policies. Monitoring shift performance metrics and implementing process improvements to optimize productivity. Administering personal development programs for team members to foster growth and skills enhancement. Operating and overseeing major production systems including in-feed, dryer, hammer mill, kiln, and pellet mill systems. Keeping accurate production logs and downtime records to support operational analysis and continuous improvement efforts. Monitoring quality tests, identifying root causes of deviations, and implementing corrective actions to ensure product excellence. Being cross-trained to cover all positions, managing absences effectively, and supporting team versatility. Assisting the Production Manager with additional tasks and special projects as needed to support overall plant performance. What You'll Bring:The ideal candidate for this role will have:3-5 years of leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably within the wood pellet industry. Strong ability to motivate, coach, and mentor a diverse production team. Excellent communication skills and adaptability in leadership style to suit team and operational needs. A continuous improvement mindset with proven problem-solving skills. Experience with troubleshooting manufacturing processes and delegating tasks effectively. Physical ability to walk and stand for approximately 80% of the shift, lift up to 50 lbs, and move between different work areas.
