Director, Trade & Distribution

Leveraging our team’s expertise in antibody discovery and engineering, we have created a robust pipeline of differentiated investigational therapeutic candidates for well-validated targets.Reporting to the Sr. Director, Pricing, Contracting & Trade, the Director, Trade & Distribution will lead the development and execution of our trade and distribution strategy across 3PL, distributors and pharmacies. This role is critical to ensuring optimal patient access to our therapies through effective channel management, strategic partnerships, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise and a strong understanding of rare diseases and specialty channel operations.This role is fully remote. Travel to headquarters for meetings may be required at the discretion of management.Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):Strategic LeadershipDevelop and implement the trade and distribution strategy for Viridian’s commercial and pipeline productsDesign scalable distribution models to support product launches and future growthLead cross-functional initiatives to align distribution strategy with commercial, market access, and patient support goalsChannel ManagementEstablish and manage relationships with 3PL, specialty pharmacies, and specialty distributorsNegotiate and manage contracts with channel partnersOversee implementation and performance of channel partners, ensuring service level agreements and KPIs are metOperational ExcellenceCollaborate with internal stakeholders (Patient Services, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, Quality, Commercial Ops) to ensure seamless execution of distribution operationsManage day-to-day performance of external vendors to drive high performance levels across key KPIsLead quarterly business reviews with key trading partners and internal leadershipData & AnalyticsDefine and manage trade data reporting requirements and performance dashboardsAnalyze channel data to identify trends, optimize inventory, and support strategic decisionsEnsure timely and accurate delivery of transactional data (e.g., 852, 867, SP status and dispense reports)Compliance & GovernanceEnsure compliance with DSCSA, 340B, Medicaid, Medicare Part D, and other regulatory requirementsMaintain SOPs and governance processes, including, but not limited to policies for returns and chargebacksQualifications:Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in business, health sciences, or related field preferred10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience, with at least 5 years in trade, distribution, or channel strategySuccessful experience managing high performance of specialty pharmacies and distributors, 3PL, rare/orphan diseases, and buy-and-bill modelsStrong background in contract negotiation, vendor management, and cross-functional leadershipExcellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills to achieve objectivesStrong analytical and project management capabilitiesProficiency in interpreting and leveraging trade data and performance metricsStrong commitment to ethical standardsProficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)Ability to travel up to 30%The salary range for this position is commensurate with experienceViridian offers a comprehensive benefits package including:Competitive pay and stock options for all employeesMedical, dental, and vision insurance100% Paid Parental LeaveShort- and long-term disability coverageLife, Travel and AD&D401(k) Company Match with immediate company vestEmployee Stock Purchase planGenerous vacation plan and paid company holiday shutdownsVarious fertility, mental, financial, and proactive physical health programsViridian Therapeutics, Inc. provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination, harassment, or retaliation of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by Federal, State, and Local laws.
