Learning Consultant/Resource Teacher

Required Qualification:The candidate must hold a degree and/or certification in Special Education. Job DescriptionThe Learning Consultant/Resource Teacher at St. Francis of Assisi School supports student learning by maintaining student learning profiles/support plans (SFA internal document), ensuring that Special School District Services Plans are understood and up to date, collaborating with teachers and parents, and providing direct academic support to students. This role focuses on helping students grow through appropriate interventions, enrichment opportunities, and clear communication between home, school, and outside service providers.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Learning Consultant/Resource Teacher will:Maintain, update, and organize all student learning profiles at St. Francis of Assisi.Serve as the primary school contact for the Special School District to ensure service plans, meetings, and documentation remain current.Maintain accurate, confidential, and secure student records, including student learning profiles, SSD service plans, evaluation documents, progress data, and parent communication.File updated service plans and related documentation in students' cumulative records, and keep the secure school shared drive up to date so that teachers and appropriate staff have access to the information needed to best support each student.Gather student data, teacher input, classroom observations, assessments, and other relevant documentation when a student is being considered for additional support or evaluation.Complete and submit necessary Special School District paperwork for review, referral, evaluation, and service plan updates.Follow up with appropriate SSD staff members to ensure timelines, meetings, evaluations, and services continue moving forward.Guide parents through the SSD process by explaining the next steps, helping them understand the required paperwork, and maintaining clear communication throughout the review or evaluation process.Communicate with teachers, parents, and outside providers to schedule meetings, review student needs, and support implementation of Services Plans.Work with teachers to ensure accommodations, modifications, and supports are understood and implemented appropriately.Coordinate and attend Special School District Services Plan meetings, CARE Team meetings, and parent meetings as needed.Monitor student progress and communicate updates to teachers, parents, and administration.Review student summative grades and report cards to monitor academic progress. If a student is not succeeding, review concerns with the CARE Team and help develop or revise the SFA learning profile.Support teachers in identifying student needs and determining appropriate next steps for intervention, enrichment, or referral.Work directly with students in small groups or individually based on academic need.Provide small-group instruction focused on remedial skills, intervention, enrichment, and advanced academic support.Collaborate with classroom teachers to create flexible student groups based on data, classroom performance, and student growth goals.Assist with transition planning for students moving between grade levels or entering SFA with existing learning needs.Maintain confidentiality and ensure student information is shared only with those who need to know. Assist teachers with strategies, resources, and instructional supports for students with diverse learning needs.Help organize materials, sensory tools, learning aids, and academic resources.Review student progress throughout the year and recommend updates to learning profiles or supports.Participate in parent-teacher conferences when needed.Assist administration with planning for student support needs for the following school year.Location: St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, Oakville, MO 63129
