Supports changes to the existing design, create new designs in support of major design improvements and provide engineering liaison support to suppliers and manufacturing. This position requires a self-starter, ability to understand the interactions between the different engineering disciplines and able to work in a cooperative, dynamic, team oriented environment.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nInclude but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.\n\nDesign of aircraft metallic and composite structural components and assemblies.\n\nProvide design engineering liaison support to suppliers and manufacturing.\n\nParticipate in planning of manufacturing activity.\n\nParticipate in producibility improvement and cost reduction initiatives.\n\nJOB SPECIFICATIONS\nRequired:\n\nBachelor degree or higher, BSME or BSAE preferred, or equivalent education and work experience.\n\nMinimum of 2 years’ experience using Siemens Unigraphics (UG NX 7.5 or higher) design software. University gained experience or experience with other design software packages is acceptable.\n\nFamiliarity with ASME Y14.5M geometric dimensioning and tolerance techniques.\n\nFamiliarity with aircraft structural design.\n\nFamiliarity with Product Data Management (PDM) software.\n\nStrong computer skills, utilizing common tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access.\n\nPreferred:\n\nExcellent technical writing skills.\n\nExperience with FAA certification projects\n\nProject leadership experience.\n\nWORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS\nWork primarily performed in an office. May have some exposure to noise from aircraft and machinery in a warehouse or hangar environment.
