General Manager
As the General Manager of a SONIC Drive‑In restaurant, you are responsible for leading the crew to ensure safe, efficient service and an outstanding customer experience.
Responsibilities
Manage, train, monitor, and coach crew, carhops, and skating carhops.
Direct and assign employees to meet operational standards.
Ensure employee compliance with the drive‑in handbook, policies, and practices.
Perform opening and/or closing duties.
Prepare work schedules and adjust staffing levels as needed.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels; place orders within cost‑control procedures.
Maintain employment and payroll records.
Reinforce a customer‑service mentality and focus on serving guests at all times.
Resolve guest requests respectfully and report complaints to supervisors.
Interview and hire crew and management team members.
Prepare operational reports and develop action plans to address financial or sales trends.
Develop and implement marketing plans.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business, restaurant management, or related fields preferred.
At least two years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred) and experience running shifts without supervision.
Minimum five‑day work week with at least three closing shifts (or a guaranteed four‑day week) including irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, and selection practices.
Knowledge of federal and state labor laws, local health, and sanitation regulations.
Leadership and supervisory skills with effective verbal and written communication.
Basic accounting and computer skills.
Ability to follow directions, work autonomously, multitask, and solve problems.
Problem‑solving, decision‑making, and conflict‑resolution skills.
Willingness to abide by SONIC's appearance, uniform, and hygiene standards.
