Design Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY: Works with customer engineering to develop engine cooling requirements for heat transfer performance, vehicle mounting, and environment for specific vehicles using CAD & related software; and to coordinate designing and testing of engine cooling systems to meet these requirements; works with customers and suppliers to accomplish requirements. Demonstrates proficiency and competency in use of Involvement of Personnel tools, which support the TISIX continuous improvement philosophy. Actively supports the TISIX, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Environmental Health and Safety Management Systems, and supports all necessary activities to fully implement all management systems into all aspects of TitanX operations. Assumes Deputy Responsibilities as assigned in accordance with Procedure Admin/4.1.2/02. Performs miscellaneous related duties as assigned. MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works with customer engineering staff to develop engine cooling requirements for heat transfer performance using provided software as required Develops vehicle mounting, environment, and detailed drawings for heat exchangers using 2D & 3D CAD and related software including FEA analysis as required. Coordinates design and testing of engine cooling system and sub-systems. Determines specifications and testing requirements. Actively leads or supports design phase reviews in accordance with TitanX system requirements Works with vendor engineering, process/manufacturing, and quality staff to assure a producible component of the highest possible quality. Develops, delivers and implements the following reliability tools: Lessons Learned, Design and Installation FMEAs, Functional Analysis, Test Plan/DVP&R, and all Design Reviews. Responsible for compliance with all Company related procedures and work instructions.
