This position provides technical and project leadership using hands-on approaches while exercising tactical flexibility while focused on the strategic goals.\nWhat a typical day looks like:\nHires and trains the mechanical engineering staff.\nOversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.\nConducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.\nHandles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.\nActively oversees the implementation of company’s safety, quality, and cultural guidelines.\nManage technical communications with the customers, clearly presents CTS designs and follows-up with customer’s feedback.\nAssigns Mechanical Engineering personnel to projects and tasks, as required, manages team’s performance, and proactively assists his/her direct reports to meet project goals and schedules.\nProvides estimates of labor and period of performance for Mechanical Engineering efforts in support of proposals.\nProvides robust design with reliability and manufacturability, and meets cost & schedule\nActively coordinate the definition of design inputs, the creation of the design descriptions and specifications.\nLeads by example in implementing current designing tools, practices, processes, and regulatory requirements.\nVerifies designs, trouble-shoots, conducts, documents and/or oversees any resultant processes of corrective actions.\nDirectly serve, as appropriate, as Project Engineer on certain projects.\nPerforms other related duties, as assigned\nHighly experienced in traditional mechanical design, simulations, design for manufacturing and assembly for mechanical systems such as enclosures for buildings’ equipment or switchgears.\nProven records of personal and technical leadership.\nRequired competence in 3D solid modelling, proficiency with the latest mechanical CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and the simulation tools required.\nExperience in structural design and analysis, familiarity with structural FEA\nFamiliarity with building codes, ASME, ANSI\nKnowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to work well with assemblers and other manufacturing personnel.\nExcellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, troubleshooting skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills.\nProficient with MS Office programs, including Microsoft Projects.\nMust have excellent organization, supervisory, managerial and leadership skills to manage a team of engineers and technical staff.\nFamiliarity with ISO policies and safety regulations\nExcellent budgeting and cost containment skills.\nAbility to gather, analyze and summarize data in order to draw rational, fact-based conclusions\nThe experience we’re looking to add to our team:\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s Degree preferred.\nMinimum 5 years’ experience in Mechanical Design\nMinimum 2 years’ Managerial experience and/or proven leadership skills\nKnowledge of coding and standards associated with the Electrical Industry\nProfessional Engineer certification is a plus.\nKR14\nWhat you'll receive for the great work you provide:\nFull range of medical, dental, and vision plans\nLife Insurance\nShort-term and Long-term Disability\nMatching 401(k) Contributions\nVacation and Paid Sick Time\nTuition Reimbursement\nJob Category\nDesign, Process & Technology Engineering\nRelocation: Not eligible\nIs Sponsorship Available?\nNo\nCrown is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
