You will lead the estimating process from concept through proposal, partnering closely with project stakeholders, engineers, and executive leadership. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep mechanical construction knowledge, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with internal teams and industry partners. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy shaping winning proposals, this is the role for you.WHAT YOU'LL BRINGSkills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and project sequencingAbility to develop accurate conceptual, budgetary, and detailed estimatesStrong relationship-building skills with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teamsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilitiesAbility to multitask and manage multiple estimates with competing deadlinesHigh attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and qualityStrong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to work collaboratively in a team-focused environmentQualifications7+ years of experience estimating mechanical construction projectsProficiency with estimating software and digital takeoff toolsStrong understanding of drawings, specifications, and contract documentsExperience estimating HVAC, plumbing, piping, and/or mechanical systemsFamiliarity with pre-construction workflows, proposal development, and value engineeringAbility to lead estimate reviews and present findings to leadershipBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferredWHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING HEREAt Polk Mechanical, you're more than an employee — you're part of Polk Nation.
