Zoning Division Manager
Cherokee County is seeking a skilled and experienced professional to serve as our next Zoning Division Manager.This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the County’s zoning operations, guiding a team of professionals, and ensuring the effective administration of zoning regulations, development reviews, and land use processes. The position plays a key role in shaping our community through oversight of zoning cases, subdivision and development plans, and ordinance interpretation and updates. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, in-depth knowledge of zoning and land use practices, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to the public, stakeholders, and the Board of Commissioners.If you’re passionate about community development and ready to make an impact in a growing county, we encourage you to apply.Job Requirements- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree supplemented by a Master’s degree and a minimum eight (8) years of experience in Planning or Zoning.- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in planning or related is preferred. Supervisory experience of a minimum of five (5) years mentoring and managing professional staff is preferred.- Certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) preferred.- Valid Georgia Driver’s License and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). - Position involves working in our Canton office during normal business hours as well as regular public meetings in the evenings.Salary Range$75,516.00 - $98,171.00Benefits- Defined Benefit Pension Plan and optional 457(b) Defined Contribution Plan- Full medical, dental, and vision- PTO, Sick Days and 12 Paid Holidays per yearApply Now!
