Position SummaryResponsible for working within a team to perform required system inspections on utility PV power plants. Perform mechanical inspections and electrical testing. Document all inspection findings and test results. Communicate inspection findings and test results with General Foreman. Document and assist with PV system troubleshooting and corrective actions.ResponsibilitiesAssist with the inspection and testing of PV plants to specifications and contract documentsComplete all commissioning documentation during inspectionDocument all outstanding issues and deliver all documentation in a neat and orderly manner for review by the General Foreman and Commissioning ManagerPerform LOTO duties as outlined by the company and site specific policiesPerform field test data entry as neededPerform final visual and mechanical inspections on equipment before energization dateSupport third party testing and inspections (Transformers, MV audits, MV cable tests, Fiber optics, etc.)Ensure site documentation is prepared for upcoming testing sitesEnsure proper use of PPE and conformity to safety procedures by all employeesKeep tools clean and orderly at all timesReport any missing or broken tools to Lead and inform Lead when consumable supplies are lowCare for and maintain all issued PPE in accordance with manufacturer's specificationsWork independently as a member of the teamWork together and take lead of other Techs ensuring quality of work and adherence to all safety proceduresOther duties as assignedQualificationsEducation and Work Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferredClassroom education or training in photovoltaic systems preferredPhotovoltaic installation experienceThree years of electrical experience in the internal Industrial sector or in fields related to Renewables, specifically in Commissioning rolesOSHA 10 hour, First Aid/CPR, NFPA 70E certifications preferredAbility to take lead in commissioning tasks with minimal oversightKnowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredTake reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward MasTec's Zero Injury principlesAbility to read and understand electrical single line and three line diagramsAbility to use a multi-meter/Commissioning test equipment (e.g., Meters, insulation resistance tooling, DET 2/3, Solmetric/Seaward testing units)Understand electrical theory and base troubleshooting methodsCommon sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral formBe able to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standardsWorking EnvironmentWhen visiting jobsites the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautionsThis work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noisesFinancial WellbeingCompensation: $30.00-$32.50 per hour, commensurate with experienceCompetitive pay with ongoing performance review and merit increase401(k) with company match & Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)Flexible spending account (Healthcare & Dependent care)Health & WellnessMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance (plan choice) – coverage for spouse, domestic partner, and childrenDiabetes Management, Telehealth Coverage, Prescription Drug PlanEqual Employment OpportunityMasTec, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
