Pool Cleaner Technician

POSITION OVERVIEWThe Pool Cleaner is responsible for providing high-quality on-site maintenance and cleaning services for assigned commercial pool facilities. This role operates independently on a designated route and is responsible for ensuring pools are clean, safe, and compliant with applicable health, safety, and regulatory standards.Responsibilities include routine cleaning, water chemistry balancing, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs. This role requires the safe handling of tools, equipment, and commercial pool chemicals.For commercial pool operations, this position requires a valid Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification, or the ability to obtain certification within the Company-defined timeframe.This is a physically demanding field-based role performed in outdoor environments and around water and chemicals.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESManage and maintain an assigned commercial pool routePerform routine cleaning including brushing, vacuuming, skimming, and filter maintenanceTest, balance, and adjust water chemistry in accordance with training and safety standardsSafely handle, transport, and apply pool chemicals in accordance with company protocols and SDS guidelinesPerform minor repairs including replacement of lights, fittings, gaskets, and basic plumbing componentsAssist with installation and maintenance of pool-related systems including pumps, heaters, skimmers, and piping as assignedRemove, fold, and store pool covers safelyClean and maintain pool decks, furniture, and surrounding areasLoad and unload tools, materials, and chemicals from company vehicles safelyComplete accurate service logs, chemical readings, and daily job documentationReport equipment issues, safety hazards, or property concerns immediatelyEnsure compliance with all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and applicable regulations SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSPrior experience in pool maintenance, facilities maintenance, or similar field preferredWorking knowledge of pool systems, water chemistry, and chemical safety proceduresAbility to safely handle and apply commercial-grade chemicals following training guidelinesStrong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized proceduresAbility to work independently and manage assigned route efficientlyStrong communication and customer service skillsValid driver's license with a clean driving record requiredMust meet eligibility requirements for Company vehicle insurance coverageAbility to obtain and maintain CPO certification (required for commercial pool operations)SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTSPool Cleaners require flexible schedules and may work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and work overtime depending on business needs.Ability to work during certain holidays, particularly during peak summer months, as recruiting is critical during these times.
