This role is designed for individuals who have foundational experience in transportation planning and are looking to advance their skills and knowledge to prepare for further career advancement in logistics. This position will support Transportation Team Leaders by executing projects, completing standard work, conducting transportation planning, and assisting other transportation planners within the team. The Transportation Planner will ensure that transportation decisions, including rates, on-time delivery, and quality, create the \"best value\" for both Trane Technologies and our customers. Additionally, the role will actively participate in continuous improvement and rapid improvement events.\n\nWhat You Will Do\n\nAdvanced Transportation Planning: Provide comprehensive transportation planning for assigned facilities, ensuring optimal routing, carrier selection, and scheduling to meet business objectives.\n\nCross-Functional Support: Serve as a backup for other transportation planners as required, ensuring seamless operations and continuity.\n\nInnovative Process Improvement: Develop and implement innovative and aggressive approaches to transportation process improvements and price reduction strategies.\n\nContinuous Improvement Participation: Actively participate in 9 Step Problem Solving and rapid improvement events, owning actions and driving results.\n\nStrategic Planning: Demonstrate the ability to plan across all plants and distribution centers within your Strategic Business Unit (SBU), ensuring alignment with overall logistics strategy.\n\nOTM Testing: Conduct Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) system testing to ensure functionality and efficiency.\n\nProject Management: Assist with resource allocation, project plan development, and driving project execution to achieve optimal results.\n\nGlobal Business Acumen: Demonstrate regional knowledge of carriers, industry trends, emerging markets, and technology to inform strategic decisions.\n\nProblem Solving: Identify potential problems, conduct root cause analysis, and lead corrective action plan implementation to resolve issues effectively.\n\nRelationship Management: Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders within North America Logistics, share transportation research with the entire enterprise, and manage the \"one Trane Technologies voice\" to the carrier base.\n\nOther Duties: Perform other duties as directed by Transportation Team Leaders.\n\nWhat You Will Bring\n\nEducation: Bachelor's Degree preferred; relative experience required in lieu of degree.\n\nExperience: Minimum of 2+ year experience in Supply Chain or Transportation, with demonstrated proficiency in transportation management systems; experience in Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) preferred.\n\nTechnical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft applications, with emphasis on Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.\n\nCommunication: Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.\n\nTeam Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, fostering collaboration and mutual support.\n\nTravel: Minimal travel required.\n\nAnnual Base Salary Range\n$40,000.00 - $74,340.00\n\nCompensation Type\nException Hourly\n\nIncentive Eligible\nNo\n\nSales Commission Eligible\nNo\n\nDisclaimer\nWe strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
