Professional Land Surveyor OpportunityATCO is seeking a Washington State licensed Professional Land Surveyor to join our team! This is a W-2 position that will initially be part-time/piece work. Hours will not be regular, however, the successful candidate will need to be available for the duration of the projects when they come along. Candidates preferred in the Snohomish County area. Our main office is located at 708 First Street, Snohomish, Washington. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge, precision, and analytical skills with a deep understanding of legal and regulatory requirements. We are seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor to join our growing engineering firm. This role involves performing and overseeing a variety of land surveying services in support of transportation, utility, residential subdivision, and commercial site development projects.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct land surveys and measurements using specialized tools and equipmentPrepare and maintain accurate field notes, maps, and reportsEstablish and verify boundary lines for propertiesResearch historical maps, surveys, and legal documents to gather informationCollaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teamsUtilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other surveying softwareProvide expert advice on land development and construction projectsEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulationsDraft and present land survey results to clients and stakeholdersCoordinate fieldwork activities and manage project timelinesPerform topographic and hydrographic surveysVerify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculationsResolve discrepancies and disputes regarding land boundariesStay updated on the latest surveying technology and industry best practicesRequired Skills/Abilities:Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in land surveyingAdvanced degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related fieldProficiency in CAD software and GIS toolsExtensive experience in land surveying and boundary determinationsStrong project management skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailExcellent problem-solving and analytical abilitiesFamiliarity with the latest surveying technologies and techniquesEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProficient in the use of survey instruments and softwareStrong understanding of legal and regulatory requirementsAbility to interpret and analyze complex dataExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAttention to detail and precisionStrong organizational and time-management skillsLicenses/Certifications:Must possess a valid Washington State Land Surveyor LicenseValid licenses in other states are considered a plusMembership in professional organizations such as NSPS is desiredEducation/Experience:Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field, preferredOr a 2-year associate degree and 2 years of board approved work experienceOr 4 years of board-approved work experienceOther Requirements:The physical ability, on occasion, to work in the field walking, twisting, balancing, exposure to inclement weather, noise, and slippery and/or uneven surfacesSubstantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingersRequires viewing a computer screen for long periods of timeMust be able to pass a background check and drug screen post offerDriving is required for business on an occasional basis or to accomplish work which requires the use of a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursementMust possess a valid driver license and a safe driving record throughout the course of employmentBenefits:Group Medical Plan along with voluntary Dental and Vision plans, 401k Savings Plan with company match.Pay Range:$70.00 - $80.00 per hour, DOE
