Senior BI Developer

As part of the Data Intelligence department, the Senior BI Developer plays an important role in supporting the execution of our Data Strategy at Allied Solutions. The developer will work closely with technology groups, consultants, customers, and business stakeholders to deliver reporting and dashboard solutions that transform data into actionable insights. This role will serve as a SME for Business Intelligence, recommending changes or advancements to architecture, data models, and technology as needed in support of optimal Business Intelligence. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a smaller team providing innovative, impactful solutions to the organization.Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesBusiness Intelligence Architecture & Development (60%)Brings in-depth knowledge of Power BI and BI architecture to strategic planning and architect meetings, ensuring that the best BI architecture is deployed within Allied’s ecosystemAnalyzes, models, and interprets data for the purposes of optimized reportingEstablishes and applies Business Intelligence and UI/UX best practices to all BI solutions across the enterprisePlays key role in BI application support through researching bugs and implementing solutionsSupports BI embedding efforts within Allied software as well as third party technologyWorks closely with the Data Management department to ensure that the data is accessible and accurate, and addresses any data gaps when applicableActs as the lead BI developer for Allied, using the software of choice, Power BIBusiness Discovery Consultation (20%)Consults with the enterprise to build reporting requirements and develop meaningful, self-service BI reporting solutionsReverse engineers legacy reports to understand how they were developed by the business to then translate into a BI report or dashboardCommunicates both data and technical concepts to non-technical audiencesLeadership & Training (20%)Acts as an enterprise SME for Power BI and helps to evangelize Business Intelligence across the organizationConducts training on BI technology with internal and external customers as neededMentors and develops other data analysts and BI developersResearch market trends in analytics, BI, and financial services industriesQualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA)Bachelors degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Field of Study: STEM, Informatics, Computer Science, Analytics, MIS5 – 7 years related work experience5+ years’ experience as a Business Intelligence Developer or in a related Data Analytics role required3+ years’ experience developing and deploying reports in Microsoft Power BI requiredExpert in Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) language requiredMicrosoft Power BI Certifications preferred3+ years’ experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) requiredAdvanced understanding of data file structures, relational databases, and dimensional modeling concepts requiredExperience with Snowflake or other cloud-based Data Warehouse and Data Lake environments preferredThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
